Course is kept in pristine condition. Greens are quick and only slightly undulating. Well placed sandtraps, but the average golfer can easily avoid. Several par 4's require above average shots to reach in regulation. However, the shorter par 4's reward with birdies. This is a balanced challenging course.

My experience with the management at this club has been extremely disappointing. My first issue involved Mike Hall, who typically works mornings and, ironically, lives in this neighborhood himself. In 2025, I was walking my dogs before the course had opened. I remained on the blacktop and sidewalk near the cart house and pickleball courts—I was never on the golf course. This was a route I had used many times without incident. During one of those walks, Mike drove his golf cart directly toward me and my dog in a manner that I considered reckless and intimidating. I reported the incident, but nothing was ever done about it. To this day, our interactions continue to leave me feeling singled out whenever I’m in the area. Fast forward to today, and now the General Manager/Owner has also made it a point to confront me about walking my dogs along the top of the main hill near the tall seagrass. I’ve walked that same area for over seven years without a single complaint or issue. Yet at the same time, the General Manager regularly brings his own dog onto the golf course. I understand that he owns the property, but the double standard is difficult to ignore. What is even more frustrating is

The entire staff at Cypress Point is consistently the best in Hampton Roads. I have participating in various tournaments at this course, and everyone there greets you with a smile and a “yes” attitude. I felt that no matter what questions I had, or request, it was always met with a can-do attitude. The course itself is beautiful, and the facilities are wonderful.

Cypress Point golf course is always in great condition. There are a few memorable/beautiful holes. Staff was friendly and had a great restaurant. Very updated. Maintenance could rake the tree areas better, but that's my only qualm. Great course overall. US Open rough for some reason. Need to cut the rough.
